Hants East Rural High

This is where the graduation photos are presented

It's a little broken up but that's ok I survived.

On the side there is where all theatre and assembles take place which is huge in there.

We just got the gym floor fixed thank god, because of a water leak which ruined the ground. School dances take place in here and obviously intramurals and other activities.

On the side there is the gym room and the skilled trades room. It's pretty much open to all grades at lunch and after school which most students found useful.

Poems by Eva Abdel-ghani

Happy Moments

I remember the burning sand,
melted ice-cream dripping from my hand,
the warm breezy air,
that made me stop and stare.

I remember the colorful silly clowns,
that made squeaky balloon crowns,
fluffy pink cotton candy,
and blue tickets that come in handy.

I remember fun trips to the zoo,
but it was the worst when you stepped in poo,
so many interesting facts to read,
and so many birds that know the meaning of greed.

  HATE
Hard to believe that I have been deceived,
Ate away the heart you played,
Taken the love I had for you,
 Easy it can come.

                                                                Guilt

Guilt is gray like the sky after a downpour of sadness,
It tastes like a bitter poison burning down your throat
It smells like nothing, because all the senses are shadowed by the past
It looks like sweat dripping against a stricken face
It sounds like an African tribal drum beating within your chest
It feels like denial of one's deeds but acceptance of one’s sins.

  Smores or apples

                 Smores
              warm, sticky
    chewing, enjoying, sticking
     food, clever - juicy, sweet
       falling, rotting, growing
               big, crunchy
                   apples

         The Way Of Life
Dreams that may lurk at night can affect your life.
Rest your head, you will be fine.
Each good dream passes through the lines.
As for the bad dreams, they stay behind.
Many people believe it's powers
Catching dreams through the hours
A form of art and protection.
The dream catcher is a sacred tradition
Calming you at night
Holding the bad dreams tight
Every dream catcher is special
Respected by many cultures.

A Little History About Nail Polish

Nail varnish comes a long way in history from 3000 B.C. Some people say it was from 5000 B.C but i don't think that's true. Nail polish was first found by the Indian's  because they would apply henna to there nails to dye it a certain color usually red. Then there were the Ancient Egyptian's and the Ancient Chinese that would make nail varnish out of bee's wax, Arabic gum and camels hair as the brush. But only the wealthy or high rank people were allowed to apply dark colored nail polish. If some one that was a low rank applied dark colored nail polish they were killed, only light colors were allowed. If you want some one to thank then thank Ford for carrying the tradition of nail polish by the nitrocellulose he applied to his cars to let the paint last and not rust right away from rain. That's why "OLAY" made dish soap that leaves skin and nails strong and smooth and doesn't remove nail polish so easily and makes your skin moist not dry and flaky. Nail today is one of the most popular things on earth that will probably never lose popularity.
